Yeah, yeah, rub it in why don't you
I wonder what's causing it for me then??
I tried a completely fresh install (including uninstalling and reinstalling Xvid) and the problem persists, like I say, it's easy to fix, but a PITA.

perhaps clear out all your codecs from control panel (some of the audio gunk too).
You can do it from Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices>Hardware>Audio/Vice Codecs>properties, then choose the gunk you want and click remove

Am busy as we speak with a rip but I came to the conclusion that I have not ripped a movie in a long time. XviD changed almost completely and got a shitload of new options in it. Any one can share some thoughts on how to make a HQ rip with RC4 of XviD?
Btw, first rip with 0.28.7 freaked me out, looked like it was shot underwater :-o

I got exactly the same problem as you PC_A. And it's a fresh install into a fresh install of Win2K (well about 2 weeks fresh) on my laptop. Got round it in the same way, manually muxing.

Aha, I think I might have a fix, I haven't tried it yet but according to the GK forum @ doom9 :
Quote: | Since GKnot is using DVD2AVIdg now, by getting the audio in DVD Decrypter, you're liable to get an audio asynch, although not much of one. Q17 of the DVD2AVI FAQ explains more about the issue. DVD Decrypter does the same thing as the DVD2AVI versions v1.76/1.77.3. So, if you use DVD2AVIdg to create your project file (as I'm assuming), it's important that you also get the audio from it at the same time. But if your delay is larger than 100 ms or so, something else is going on. Are you also making sure to set the delay in GKnot before starting the encoding?
If everything else checks out, there's always the chance that it's a playback issue. So make sure you're not playing from the CD-ROM, but from the hard drive. And maybe test one of these out-of-synch avis on a different computer, if possible.

Yeah, I saw that but I'm doing all that already. DVD2AVI creates the stream for me, not DVDDecrypter.
The dude in the thread said it was all fixed when he used that method, but no dice for me.
And the playing from the HDD? Come on, how doofus like would you have to be to be doing that?
I think the developers are in denial (as usual ) and it won't be until everyone starts complaining that they do anything to fix it.

I have nothing but troubles with GK 0.28.8. Tried almost every possible option I can think of but still no go.
Used the newest XviD and that went to shreds (the underwater movie), then I went back to the version from last year and that one keeps ending after the first pass in VDubMod.
Can anyone who do have GK working plz tell me what version they use of GK itself and what version of the XviD codec coz I am getting right down pissed at my computer at this time coz the worthless thing aint doing what I want him to do, while in the past it did work for me but I can't remember which version I used of GK. It does not help that I have downloaded al versions over the couple of months off course. Dds 7 encoded and not one of them are worth sharing.
