hehe. I saw the first 2, but never had time to see the third. As I work all nights and evenings, I never got a chance to see it at the cinema, and now I figured I just might wait for the extra enhanced super mega edition.

TaKYoNtheKoRRuPTeD, the idea is to name domains that no1 owns.
If you type it in and it displays connection refused, there's a strong chance its available. If anything pops up, even 'this domain is for sale' then you don't stand a chance (the latter means a domain reaper service has got it and you have to buy it off them at a negotiated (highly overpriced) amount.
@doe, you want to google for whois, and query for domains when you have some in mind

so, what's a decent webpage editor these days? It's been like 6 years or something since I messed around with htm, so I'll need something fairly simple...
I'd like to have one where you could just drag&drop in pictures, as I'm gonna have LOADS of em. Would also be nice if it was also possible to drag-slide-adjust the size and possition, without having to write the code...

You can't beat NotePad
Depends on your level/knowledge of HTML et al?
Personally I love Dreamweaver, but can be a bit too complex for the newb.
Theres nothing wrong with Frontpage, for the easy drag and drop, quick web page creation tool, but once you start getting advance you'll move off it

THERES EVERYTHING WRONG WITH F*CKING FRONTPAGE
DO NOT USE FRONTPAGE
Its a terrible app, that creates terrible sites, that only work in one browser and even then look crap in them.
If you need a GUI use dreamweaver MX.

ok.. I'm now well on the way. =)
One thing though:
I have a few viedo clips which I wanna put up, but some of them were taken holding the camera on the side, so I need to flip the picture 90 degrees. What's the easiest way to do this?
Oh, yeah, these clips are in standard .avi format created by my camera. should I convert them to divx? Would make them much smaller, but might render noobs incapable of playing them. What do you think?

Well if you want people to download and watch them, rather than stream, then you need to think of bandwidth and I'd have to say it would be a very bad idea not to compress it, even to a gay format like mov would be better than no compression at all.
Regardless, perhaps put up the video clip with a screenshot, then use a coloured table, like this quick reply, title colour and then a box. Then put the title as "Playing the avi" and in the box below, put a step by step guide to installing divx or something
What's the site about then? pr0n?

It's about my Thai trip.
For a VERY temporary example, go here http://jdoe.team5.org/
It doesn't seam to work all the time though... =(
I think the clips are somewhat compressed allready, by my camera. This is a gspot output of one:
Filesize.....: 1.22 MB (or 1,252 KB or 1,282,794 bytes)
Runtime......: 00:00:10 (121 fr)
Video Codec..: Motion JPEG including Huffman Tables
Video Bitrate: 990 kb/s
Audio Codec..: PCM Audio
Audio Bitrate: 64 kb/s, monophonic
Frame Size...: 320x240 (1.33:1) [=4:3]
1. But it would probably be much smaller in divx...
What should I use to convert it with then?
2. And what about the 90 degree rotation?
3. At the site (if it's working) you'll see there are a bunch of pictures. I'm not exactly sure how to make the layout, but I shrunk all the pics to 320x200 and thought I might use them as thumbnails? I would like to have a tiny text box beneath some of them...
Some of the pictures doesn't really have much to do with the main text however, so I just dumped them at the bottom temporarly, as I'm not exactly sure how I should get them bundled in there.
Maybe I should only have about 4-6 photos shown pr "Day" (within the text) and make them thumnails. Put a small "Click any picture to browse this day's photo gallery" notice on the bottom or the top...
Clicking any photo would then open a new browser window, where one can click through the rest as well, all in 640x400 format. That way I could include a tiny text to each picture as well.. Sound like a good idea?
Here's two examples on how I could make it look:
http://www.sega-am2.co.jp/outrun2/en/game.html
Under 'Heart attack mode'. many tiny thumbnails, each one having their own text.
http://www.eagames.com/official/nfs/und ... nshots.jsp
Using the 'Back' & 'Next' option instead, as well as a '1 of 5' text, telling how many pictures are left.
4. I also have to emphasize that I know absolutley nothing about layout or design, so I'm glad to hear any tips there as well.

1. and 2.: VirtualDub, if "Motion JPEG including Huffman Tables" is supported (has a VfW interface)

?? I tried using both virtualdub and Nandub to convert this to divx, but can't find any place to select codec compression....
Also can't find anywhere to rotate the screen.
