yes, upload is dumb, the main benefit you get from the mods is its intelligent upload handling.

Downloads are near identical in them all, if you don't 'release' files, then emule default should be adequet.

I've reinstalled my computer and I want to put eMule on it again. My favorite mod is MorphXT, although it's a great mod once in awhile there will be a crappy version of it.

Any ideas on what the most stable version is of MorphXT (Used 5.11 before)

I'm using the latest with no problems. Stable as a rock, but then again, all the other ones were (btw, I never use "a" versions, wait till the client hits b revision before upgrading)

I have a lot of files on the go too and infinite queue, so I can't think it can be either of those causing any problems.

I had trouble before with 5.12 and 5.15 (kept crashing for whatever reason) so I stuck to 5.11.

Well, guess I'll go for the latest version then, thanks Spud :beerchug:

well i can't find fault on it really, beyond the fact I find the powershare dubious in that it refused to allow me to powershare a file that I was the only complete for because it found over 200 partial sources (there's either a source reading bug, a very poor method for checking spread, or a bug in reporting sources on the part of other clients).

That's a universal thing for any client with powershare though.

I might grab the sources and override its authorise/deny for "its own good".

Well you should do the obvious, cap your upload at ~80% of your line max, like emule, the more you upload the more you download. If you have capped your upload very low, you will not download faster than a calculation based on your upload cap. Fair's fair, even if isp's bandwidth allocation isn't.

Make sure you have the port open you've specified in options (choose something like 9163 and open that on your router and all your firewalls). BitComet only needs the one like azerues.

Beyond that, sometimes you just can't get high download speeds on public trackers. Its not like the good old days a lot of the time.

Btw, this is the emule thread, there's a "what bit torrent client" thread of some kind somewhere. Azereus is normally the favourite.

oh and try a popular torrent if your not already, I'm getting simpsons @ 71kb/s, starfox for the GCN @ 12kb/s , alone in the dark @ 35kb/s and carnival @ 27kb/s all at the same time.

I have my upload capped at 20kb/s on 2mbit/256kbit ADSL.
