I have a problem encoding a movie, I've had 3 goes and would like a bit of advice.

1st attempt:

Not encoded anything in awhile and dropped a bollock and the frame rate came out at 29.97fps, other than that not a problem with the rip.



2nd attempt

Encoded this one at 23.976 but I get a 10pix wide green band at the bottom of the encode, have tried this again with the same same settings and get the same bar along the bottom of the screen.



3rd attempt

Decided to let AutoGK have a go and see how it came out and got a rip the same as my 1st attempt with GordianKnot.

The thing is I'm not 100% sure when a a rip is supposed to be 29.97fps or changed to 23.97fps.

When using DVD2AVI this is the info I get.



Should I use "Forced Film" on this or should it be left alone? Or have I missed something completely?

Check the preview frame by frame in GK. If all the frames are progressive (follow on from each other), leave it at 29.97.

If there is a sequence of 3 progressive then 2 interlaced frames, enable IVTC in GK.

Oh, and the green bar, don't know - sorry!

the green bar is to do with the order of your filters in the avisynth script, probably because your using a deinterlacing filter and you shouldn't be
