in the last few days most avi files ive downloaded freeze around 1 minute and 13 seconds in, this is both using the preview feature in emule and with a finished file (all files i had before this started play fine though)

ive never experienced this problem before and havent installed any new software recently so dont know what might be causing this

any help would be greatly appreciated

(this is while using VLC/MPC player and K-Lite Mega Codec Pack in case that helps)

I would uninstall the K-Lite pack and manually acquire the codecs you need, most can be found here:

If your just playing back, the latest Xvid beta, the latest version of AC3filter and the latest FFDshow would be best.

Do you mean your system locks up or the avi crashes? If its just the avi then its likely to be a mere codec problem.

its jus tthe avi that freezes up. the timer continues to run but the video and audio freeze

ill give the codecs a try


EDIT: installing the codecs worked for a couple of the files but not for others, any other ideas as to what might be causing this?
