Hello everyone

I bought this Dune DVD (two sided disk with both versions in widescreen) a while ago and decided to rip it since the copy protection prevents me from watching it even on a standalone DVD player..... I tried a bunch of programs but so far the best results I got were with ripit4me with autoGK but even there the resulting rip skips a scene instead of freezing up with a reading error.

ripit4me reports a few dirty spots/scratches after ripping the disk but my disk is as clean as it gets so maybe it can't bypass the copy protection after all.... FixVTS doesn't seem to change the results

Have I overlooked any other option or obscure setting ?

heres the logs:

have you tried dvdfab decrypter?

http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

They update the program every couple of days to work with the newer ecryptions.

That usually what i use when everything else fails.

good luck

Yes I tried that program and it gets a reading error. I also failed to read it with anydvd. DVDShrink can process a rip done (the result still stalls while playing) by ripit4me but otherwise it also gets a cyclic redundency check error.

I'll fool around with the settings and maybe i'll get lucky. If I run out of options I could use the full screen rips that are already available.

thanks for the tip

do you have access to another dvdrom drive?

I often get disks that can only be extracted/copied if i use a different reader. Ideally a different brand to the one your using.

Looks like it was a drive compatibility issue. I still got some errors with ripit4me but the dvdrip seems to work fine. I'll test it sometime during next week.

thanks again for the help guys
