use a site like http://www.packetnews.com , search for the mediocre crap that your after and then power up irc and connect to those channels.

Then download a script called "xdccv", google for it. Extract it to the root of your mirc directory. Now you need to set up mirc to run /load -rs xdccv.mrc to register the script, and then idle in channels for a while. Once lots of crap has been plastered around those channels, type /xdccv.

This is like gui for the crap that was posted. You just click shit and set it downloaded. Otherwise use !trigger to access fileservers and then double click to queue up for a kazillion years.

eh, mIRC is also none to privacy oriented. i used it for like a week for movies. i used to use it nonstop with startrek episodes, but that was a few years ago. my small minded opinion is that it's just a hacker magnet, dumbass wanting to try out trojan proggies they just downloaded on poor inoccent movie swappers because they are connected constantly.

IRC is good if you have the contacts/files to share. Once u get accepted into the groups you've pretty much hit pay dirt with dumps galore lol

mIRC is good if you find a good channel. I don't use a script, so I can't help you there.

There's another program that's loathed by the irc community that is like a tool that skips out all the c part of irc but I can't remember the name. Give me a night or two and I'll scour for it's name. It does the same as that script

Is there such thing as a script that finds xdcc bots and sends them a list command, instead of waiting for it to scroll in the room?

That would rule! I'd have a better chance at getting files sooner.

I don't use irc, it's too anti-social. Only way i use it atm is through trillian
