Emule behind a router doesn't ROCK!
The router is excellent, but don't expect the same levels of performance you're currently getting from the mule (in my experience)

NO, I don't like not being able to get a net connection with any company.

UK right? Where you're at?

I was told USA Comcast is fine to uncap, especially west coast.

I have the pdf file somewhere, is 3 pages long, but explains how to get 5mbit up/down and not get detected.

only a comcast exploit.

So figure you just connect and browse, download and upload, through the news server.

That's how it works.

ah, that's quite clever.

I can't see how they wouldn't notice though, surely the IP is still logged?

re-instates it's connecection, through a multiple proxy, and then hacks the other comcast users in your area.

Changes every connection.

are you asking if you should go for a router or a hub with a PC using ICS?

In that case you should without a doubt go for a router, ICS sucks ass, plus if your on a windows machine I simply don't think alg.exe is stable enough and third party stuff is pure bloat.

Get a 4 port router and if you need to extend, put a switch in.

@PCA, mule behind a router fuckin' rules here, filter out all the crap via hardware firewall, constant full speed download. Took me a few days to understand all the features of the router, but just set your internal ip static and then forward standard ports to your ip. Can run a few mules at once by repeating with non-standard ports.

If your a spef, there's always DMZ too

Agree, but:
many, many cheapo routers have limited number of concurrent connections (255) in its NAT connection tracking table and simply hang when the pool is exhauted.

It can't happen (at least not so fast) with a linux/bsd router...

4000 connections, sources can't be changed, it's at 400

and just to copy some stats:

Disk Space
Number of Downloads: 821
Total Size of Downloads: 446.53 GB
Total Completed Size: 46.22 GB (10%)
Total Size Left to Transfer: 400.31 GB
Free Space on Tempdrive: 13.99 GB (you need to free 329.21 GB!)
Total Space Needed by Downloads: 343.20 GB

Mine neither hangs, nor has any trouble finding peeps (unless they themselves have something wrong).

4000 simultaneous connections???
What router are you running Spud?

My download speeds fluctuate all over the place from a low of ~50kbps to a high of ~110 but always toward the lower end.

My router doesn't hang when it runs out of connections, it just drops them as Paul_Scream22 can testify as whenever I'm on IRC lately my connection to it is up and down like a whore's knickers :(

I'd have to load up emule to do that but i doubt it's over 1000, hell i'd be suprised if it's over 800.

If it's those stat thingys your after I'll post next time I load up emule
