I want to make a .txt list or htm list of my movie collection !
Is there any easy way to do it instead of typing all the movies by hand?

Any prog or some Win XP command/trick?
I think something like extracting the names from the folder and put them into a .txt file.

thx

if you have em all in directories for each movie, you can use tree command at prompt.
ie. tree C:\
dir shows contents of a directory.

If you have them on discs, use extreme movie manager, and then export a list to text file.

But if you mean mystically remove a cd from the shelf, put it into the drive, see what you've got, then write it into a text file or read the list directly from your head then no

if u want to list directories to a txt file at a command prompt type'dir d:\films/s/on >movies.txt' will produce a txt file with all the contents of d:\films (put your own path there) and all its subdirectories sorted by name. U will have to manually add the ones from cd-r

don't use dir, it adds too much shit. Use TREE and pipe that to a text file
"tree d:\films\ /f > d:\films\movies.txt"
Won't print shit like dir produces.

btw, you can pipe with any dos command if you didn't know should have mentioned it

> = pipe
syntax:
command parameter > output

I think its one of the features m$ stole from nix.
