I had no problems with that one, must be something with your codecs.

What Codec is being used to play the movie?
Is it's FFDshow then check you've got the most recent and if not, try a different Xvid build. I've had the same problem and the different xvid codec fixed it for me.

@PCA, i was gonna suggest that. I prefer ffdshow now, much easier. Anyone know of an app that will scrub a system of all codecs? I only ask co swhen I use the unintsall features the damn things never go properly. For example, I install Xvid and after some time uninstall it, but it still leaves enough files behind to play xvid files, and also sometimes installing a newer xvid will not replace all files.

IIRC (and I'm pretty sure I'm right on this one), when you install ffdshow it will auto take over DIVX and XVID etc. when you install another XVID codec (for the sake of argument) windows will use that instead.

Basically windows uses the last installed codec to play the relevant file unless you specifically tell your media player not to.

nope, never had any problems with using either the add/remove programs or the multimedia devices in control panel. To be honest, I prefer codecs over ffdshow, show causes too many problems (green smuge, poor playback quality, etc.) over the many versions it was better to go back to the primitive :)

FFDshow is decode only, how will you rip and release precious horror films without a codec on your system

I will have a look at that manzarek cheers.

@Spud, i couldnt possibly rip and release films, that is copyright theft and against the law. It is totally against my religion to break laws, and especially downloading films, altho I am alright if the links come from here as my "mate" said you only release/share/rip legit stuff.
