I don't know if this will help, but I have the v2 of the Linksys BEF-SR41 and in order for it to work I have to use an older version of the firmware, the latest is utter garbage.

If your switch is working very slow try switching the cards to half-duplex mode. If it doesn't help you can also lower the speed from 100 to 10 Mb/s.

I'm at work now, so I can't check settings, I'll PM you later. If your max connections are set to 5000, how many is emule actually using, are you running into the routers ceiling? check the stats page and see what your average connections are.

it stays connected for about 1 hour, then flat lines.

Need to change the switch manually or do the old Renew/refresh shit!
/ipconfig /refresh
/ipconfig /renew

Then I will be allowed to have 1 more hour of access.

Comcast is NOT the issue.

that sounds like a firmware problem to me.

Just took a quick look round, looks like the V3 has LOTS of issues, get a v2 (or another router) or wait for a fixed firmware :(

Depends on your Cable provider, your modem will be logged to a particular MAC address by COMCAST, they may (or may not) need you to phone them to change the MAC address the modem is registered to, if they do, you can avoid this step by cloning the MAC address of the device your modem was connected to.

In my provider's case, they auto register changes to MAC addresses if you remove the modem from your hardware for ~30 minutes (or get them to force a refresh).

If you had your modem plugged in via an ethernet card, then moved it to the router without cloning then as far as your modem / ISP goes, it has changed.

You don't NEED to clone, it's much easier to just inform comcast thath the MAC address you are now connecting via is the MAC adress of your Router.

If we're still talking about switches (not routers, so no emule download/upload, browsing and other intharweb stuff; just connection between two or more computers in your LAN via a switch) then this is the way: open you Local Area Connection proerties, click Configure, select Advanced tab, find Link Speed and/or Duplex and change the values. You should do it on all the computers.
