I am trying to convert an ac3 to 32-64k/s mono VBR mp3 using BeSweet. I've recently formatted and re-installed Windows and the only codecs I have on my system at present are the gknot codec package. The ac3 correctly plays at 1 hour 22 mins but the resulting mp3 is 0:34:18 duration and 115k/s, according to Windows Explorer. Media Player reckons that is the correct running time but Jet Audio plays 1:22 as expected :?

I'm sure I've not done anything different to when I've used BeSweet in the past. I did the following:

Lame 1, changed mode to mono and unchecked alt preset
Lame 2, checked use VBR, min bitrate 32, max bitrate 64.

And it gave the following log file:

Thx Dxa. Cool edit wouldn't even play the ac3 but I decoded to wav in dvd2avi. Besweet still had the same probs with this wav but cool edit converted it to 64k/s mono mp3, I'll use that :beerchug:

That was going to be my next suggestion  I had to do that with a dvd that had weird synch problems. Most are easy to do but you run into a few that bugger you to death. :beerchug:
