Heyas all, fairly new to the community and was wondering what the average setting was.

At the moment i am at the wizard defualt setting and wondering if changeing it at all would speed me up. Compared to other programs this is extremly slow to me, but the content cant be beat, so i am torn.

This dreaded blonde disease of mine has a hard time figureing this program out and any other helpfull guide lines that could be passed on would be greatly appreiciated. And i beg of you... please... in English and not techeese.

I use 1000 max sources and 5000 max connections.

It works for me (and a couple of other here that I know use it).

See if it works for you :)

The max sources/connections settings could help, but you need to take into account your operating system.
If you're on 2000 or XP, then PC_Arcade's settings should work fine.

I'm still using Windows 98 and those settings would actually slow me down. Mine are set to 300/100, which may seem low, but works well.
Any others, I'm not too sure about, sorry.

You'll never use anywhere near that amount, so just put 1000.

In realitity, even when I'm downloading hundreds of files, I never use more than say 500 sources, I highly doubt pc gets anywhere near 5000.

It makes absolutely no difference, infact it makes me chuckle a bit.... I think putting in 1000 is just to appease the people who think it will actually make the slightest bit of difference.

Somewhat bizzarrely if I put in 5000 it works fine (although NEVER gets more that ~300 connections), if I lower it to 1000 or lower it doesn't give me anywhere near my max download speed.

Go figure :wacky:

Go to statistics and look at your max connections  You won't have even reached 700, or if you have reached a high amount, its spiked ie. not displaying accurate results.

Take a look:
Code:
eMule v0.42g Statistics [HHAH SpudTheDestroyer dead-donkey.com [CHN] [Kor]]

General
   Reconnects: 174
   Average Connections (estimate): 384
   Peak Connections (estimate): 502
   Max Connection Limit Reached: 18514

It's just appeases your brain  Kind of like the notion that red things go faster

ps. that is of course exluding the Milky Way car, from the advert "The red car and the blue car had a race"

As I said before, IT DOES make a difference FOR ME, I don't know why, but it does (and always has done).
