Take a look at this picture: am I wasting my time? Can you not recover complete RARs? I never had the problem of a missing RAR before, just partially incomplete ones...

hhhmmmm!

I had the exact same problem with Christinas House a fortnight ago off a.b.m.h

I was missing 1 rar and I had all the par's but it wouldn't recover :?

Not 100% sure how Par's recover missing rar's think it is to do with how many and which rar's you already have?

if you have all the par files to the rars you can completly recover them if there are errors .. ASSUMING that the par files are not corrupt as well.

I PAR up all my rars and burn to a seperate disk. Never had a problem with em.

I found deleting the main rar works, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE NON-CORRUPTED PARS!!!!!!!!!!

High Ya,

Yes, for sure you can recover full rars. (as long as you have enough pars)
Try to get as much as possible first - makes recovery faster.
In newreaders proberly use right click & download as incompletes, or something similar

;)

info 4 newbies:
Parity Volumes may be used to verify that a set of files have
not been corrupted, or to reconstruct damaged files.

Damaged files can be repaired.
To get the most benefit from the use of PAR2, it is important
that everyone ensure that they download incomplete files.

A single byte error in a 10MB file might only require the use
of recovery data from a PAR file that is only 100KB in size.

PAR2 Utilities:
Windows http://www.quickpar.org.uk/
Unix/Linux http://parchive.sourceforge.net/
Mac OSX http://www.xs4all.nl/~gp/MacPAR_deLuxe/
