Not a problem as such, but I'm curious if anyone knows why this happens.

There's a user I'm qued with whose shared details regularly change. I look one time and he's showing as a full source, the next it'll show him as having only one chunk (but a different chunk every time).

Never seen this happen before. Anyone come across this, or know why it happens?
I'm currently using Emule 0.42f.

Cheers :beerchug:

Does it happen when you are transferring from them?
Are they called dxakrator :P

I think that person is using selective chunk sharing, meaning that instead of sharing the full file as a whole, they share it out chunk at a time.
DXA uses it and he shows as a full source for me but when ever I transfer from him, he comes up as only having the chunk I'm recieving :?

Not a problem really, they are still a full source just that they are getting out the pieces one at a time to "supposedly" increasing the spread, although thats a BIG depate

Nope, not sharing from them at the time and it's not dxakrator (although I am qued with him for the same file :D )

Could be what you mentioned though, perhaps showing the chunk I'm likely to get.
Like I said, I'm not concerned about it, just hadn't come across this before and wondered why it happened.
Thanks for the reply :D

I think there are different forms of this chunk sharing. Some that show a full source untill you start to download a chunk (like dxa) some that always appear to you as having just one chunk, etc etc!

But I'm pretty sure it's that.

Unless they actually don't have the full file and theres a glitch in your/their eMule and it displays it as full every once in a while :?

selective chunk sharing is a really terrible feature, I'd love for it to be erradicated for being so useless, but until that time comes it would be great for everyone to turn it off until then
