Just tried connecting my eMule to Razorback, but it claims that Razorback appears to be dead... and now it's been removed from the server list.

Does it have a new address or has it changed name... or is it in fact dead?

I tried 5 minutes ago and couldn't connect due to it being full. It's still in my server list though, and doesn't appear to be dead thankfully.

This happens from time to time, it usually come back on. The best thing to do usually is just to wait while using another server.

ok...

But, I tried refreshing the server list... and Razorback didn't show up.

Well, let's hope it will later on then... seems most of my downloads have got a few sources from ... whats-its-name... server. So I can relax for a few hours before I start to panic...

its full, connect to another server, it makes hardly any difference. No need to spam a particular server imo... they all do pretty much the same job to exactly the same standard. Just order by the number of people connected and click one, or better yet, just click connect and let it pick one.

Since source exchange plays a huge role, the server side issue is just caching shared files, and people connecting. Won't make much difference unless there's maybe a file where only you are downloading it, and there is a single source that you know what server it will be on.

I tend t sort by number of users and then just click any one near the top. Like spud said, makes little real difference what server you connect to.

it used to do, back before emule improved this kind of thing. It was often a real bugger trying to find sources, but the role of the server is significantly reduced since clients spread sources, and then of course there's the Kad network that's gotten to be damn good at source spreading in recent versions.

The server really just acts at flinging the initial sources at you to get you started.

Thanks...

That was information I did not know, and that I had been wondering about. I was under the impression that it was indeed important which server I was on, but I did realize as I was unable to connect to Razorback the other day that the majority of my files appeared to have the same number of sources for the most part.

Thanks for sharing this info with me...

BTW: Safely logged back onto Razorback again :)

double click on a download so it lists sources, even with ones with hundreds of sources, you'll notice hardly any have even one or two sources from your server, they are all passive, source exchange or Kad :)
