if you get a standalone , that will play mpeg from the 'root' folder . you can run a simple extracttion , chapter removal , and burn the mpeg file onto a DVD player (if this is an option)
i just got a stand alone (while it has some limitations /dosent play Qpel,OGM without some fartsing around with it) that plays DivX,XviD,Mpeg1(vcd),SVCD,KVCD,KDVD,AVI,SUBs,MP3,JPG,DVD-R,DVD+R,CDr,CD-RW for $69 USD -
Philips DVP642
that solves my problems (most of them)
find your player at
http://www.videohelp.com and see if it will play from the ROOT folder of a DVD , if it does or you want to test it
download VCDGear at videohelp above or
http://www.doom9.org
launch the program
in OPTIONS , check off "disable MPEG file splitting, hit 'ok'
in "EXTRACTION/Conversion" choose
"cue/bin ->Mpeg"
load - find the CUE file
pick a place to save it
hit start
burn onto the "Root" folder of a DVD (along with 5 or 6 others)
good luck

PS: if i use my TV out , i have to disable my second monitor , which is unacceptable , why is that ? well maybe a discussion for another thread
