I had a crash and the result was one file was messed up. The problem is that I have no idea what that file actually was, so I'm having the damndest time trying to figure it out!!! Now I've tried looking inside the .met file, but it's all blank. Is there perhaps any secret info hidden inside?

http://home.online.no/~s.rast/014.part.met

I've also tried looking at the .part file in different ways, but can't find out much. I tried looking in the known.met with metmedic but it didn't show any 014.part at all. Also the downloads.txt doesn't show it either. any suggestions?

You use donkey doctor to fix it. It's blank because it is blank, your computer crashed whilst emule was updating the part.met and the data is corrupted.

Donkey doctor searches your known.met for a hash that matches your .part files, then restores the correct info to the part.met.

Hopefully donkeydoctor is still up on the frontpage in the downloads section.

metmedic isn't donkeydoctor though, I've had a lot more luck with the latter.

ok tried, but no luck with that either. =(

It's just not in the known.met

but hey, isn't there an app that can recognize filetypes, that are missing their extension, even if they're 'broken' like the .part file probably is, being uncomplete and all?

nope, I think your thinking of Christians...

if its not in your known, and there's nothing missing in download.txt, I think that means that it was somethign you hadn't got any bytes of.

Does your mod not periodically backup .part.met files in the emule program directory in a folder called backup ? If not, I'd enable that option. Saved my ass once or twice.

Might have to just skip the restoration of this download Doe :(
