I just reinstalled and it wasn't downloading much or fast, give it a couple of hours you'll get several going at reasonable speed, give it a couple of days and you'll be downloading lots, give it a week and you'll be cruising
Unfortunately ed2k is an old protocol now, its based around large queues and slow queue rotation. The only reason newer protocols like BT are faster is really that they have the queue rotation handling much, much smaller parts. In addition ed2k other failing is that it does seem like a bottomless whole at first regarind upload to download. This is because people who have it running longer have given a lot more into the network and get it all back.
If you've been running it for days and there's no improvement, then there's most likely a problem.
btw If you cap your upload below 10, your not really going to download full potential.
Aslong as you have a highid, your not capping your upload too low, and your files show blue (darker blue the better) then you should be right to go
