When I launch it, it finds many sources for the queued files, and then gradually starts dropping them, so that after a few hours many files are red or light blue... which sucks.

Anyone experiencing the same problem?

I went back to v6.1 until they fix it.

there's a 6.6 now, still using 6.1 myself. Sounds odd, I'll try it later.

Weird, I've been back on v6.1 for a few hours now and it behaves the way it should, i.e. I can still see sources for the files I'm downloading. But as soon as I switch to v6.6 they begin to disappear. For instance, there are 3 files in my queue that are dark blue atm that very soon turn to red as soon as I switch to v6.6. This is one of them:

u sure you haven't done something silly like have the category checked to stack sources and then are complaining that its working at last?

Just worth checking, given that the source handling option doesn't work overly well in 6.1 ;)

I had the exact same problem - 6.6 showed and then immediately dropped all the sources for 3 new files and showed only 3-5 for some others. Mind you, it was not a 30-minute try-out, I left it running for over 20 hours, but it downloaded almost nothing (and the total of sources was ~50 for all my files, as opposed to >2000 when I had 6.4). When I changed it back to 6.4, it showed 500 (my hard limit) for those that 6.6 showed 0 and >50 for those with (according to 6.6) 3-5... btw I'm not dabbling in categories, I have only one default, so it can't be the reason.

I'm now back with 6.4 and I can't complain about anything. There is something screwed up with 6.6... Or maybe some config files work in a different way and the user is required to clear up the existing config and work it all up from scratch? Just a thought.

i think that's exactly the problem. last week i first used morphxt 6.3 with the config files from my sivka installation. the program worked fine except that it couldn't save the client.met file. it gave errors every few hours. even deleting the said file didn't solve the problem.

i then deleted the whole emule directory (except for known.met and emfriends.met) and installed morphxt 6.6 which as i said is running perfectly.

so i suggest to make a clean reinstall and see how that works. :)

Nope, didn't do anything like this.

If it's the problem with config files, then I'll wait for the next version and if it still does the same, I'll make a clean install.

I've been using 6.6 for about 5 hrs now without a problem.

There was a problem with 6.6 then they fixed it without changing the version number. Do you have the fixed one?

I don't know, downloaded it yesterday or the day before yesterday... What a strange idea, to fix it without changing the v. number?

na, if its only one line of code its barely worth a revision number, causes more hassle than its worth.... especially if its *just* after release.

I'm still on 6.1, but i really can't be arsed recompiling any time soon.

It does. I had the problems with the updated version. The one SiRoB put after the red-crossed news.

There's a lot of talk about this problem (you're not the only one) on offical forums. It SHOULD work fine if you lower the max new connections/sec, disable kad and similar things. I'm sticking to the old one....

yeah no point upgrading just cos there's an upgrade, not unless there's some major new feature or a bug fix that effects you, and I don't see that from a minor revision :)

There's a 6.7 out now.
Does this have the same glitch?
I was thinking about changing from Pawcio.

Hmm, perhaps I should revise my opinion. It seems to open too many upload slots, I don't know how to prevent it.

Something's wrong with powershare too, sometimes it doesn't even let ppl into the queue for powershared files.
