rite have got a dvdr wit 2 movies on (vhs transfers) and tryin 2 rip em 2 share wit U loverly lot,

unfortunately i am having some difficulties with one of them. altho when viewin wit dvd soft it looks ok, gknot shows me a res of 352x576!!!! now that is jus weird...def not encountered before. woz it a fuk up in teh capture to dvd? (i kno nothing of these matters) the prob is that when tryin 2 rip the AR is rite out (obviously) am i doin sumfing wrong here and is my fault? or can this be rectified in teh rippin process with gknot? or do i jus rip and let ppls soft players sort out? or do i not bother rippin at all? (would b a shame as is a rare one)

that is odd, in gknot did it say 100% for the resolution.

576 is correct, but it should be ~720 surely. If you've made a DVDr that plays in the player, it has to be a correct DVD resolution, i'm pretty sure of that.

If the bug persists, go the the panel (think its options) and delete your registry keys with the button. If its still there, try updating gknot. If its still there. I think it might be worth reporting the bug/problem @ doom9 with the creator.

Sounds weird

I had the similar problem with a VHS-->DVDr transfer PN.

If I played the movie in PowerDVD, it was OK. But the through GK it was tall & thin. All I did was take a screenshot from PowerDVD, get the dimensions and force GK to read it at that size (it's in the source settings, "Other").

Seemed to fix it OK.

@DJBenz, that DVDr transfer sounds like it was done on a set-top recorder set to 16:9 while capping a 4:3 source.

Very probably. It was a movie & making of documentary. The movie was fine, but the making of was all to pot.
