I'm not sure what everyone's preference is regarding credits, however, I've come across a mixed format DVD that has a logo at the start and the end credits in 4:3, whereas the rest/actual movie is in widescreen. Now the logo is going to go, but i would like to know what people prefer, credits stay on but cropped down to the movie ar (ie. top and bottom are missing as they scroll across), or just to leave them off?

I doubt the presence of the credits will make any difference mind, so i'm leaning towards removal.

Personally I would be happy to see the credits, as they are often usefull for identifying a movie as in this post

also there can be stuff going on during credits, it's a bit like the preference in encoding them at lower q

nothing happens in the credits, they just tick all the people's names past and mean that interlaced material is tacked onto a FILM encode.

If you attach them without cropping, you translate 16:9 to 4:3 meaning huge black boarders across the movie, if you crop, it means you get the credits pretty much unreadable in places, given that the names are barely on screen and any none scrolling text has the top and bottom missing.

There's no confusion over this film. There's only one with its name.

I would crop them out. Personally i don't care much for the credits, especially when it's nothing special...
Actual movie quality over credit quality anytime of course.
