Now that winmx has been taken offline is it possible to transfer all the part completes to Ares or another p2p proggie?

wow you actually used winmx in this day and age? Better not mention how much people take the piss out of winmx users then :wacky:

You can convert complete part files to emule pretty easy, check the sticky about ftp2donkey. You need the ed2k link and the temporary files have to be complete (ie. it puts things into order and then renames it to the correct filename, or downloads directly into a file... like torrent or ftp does for the latter or emule does for the former).

You need the hash that it should be though and it will drop any chunks not 8mb so it may step back a bit.

Can't imagine why you'd be downloading anything on winmx you can get on emule though.

In my defence my daughter uses it to d/l single mp3's.

If it's an album she's after i make her use emule.

Saying that, there is a lot of rare stuff you only seem to be able to get on winmx.

My mate has got almost the entire Trojan collection (early reggae/ska) from there.

The mule doesn't seem very good for d/l or sharing lots of small files.

I was hoping for a proggie where i could just drag the part files over and continue them.
Still moves have already been put in place to restart an unofficial winmx client, might just wait till then.

ah right, well then i don't know if i know of any way to do it simply. I'm not quite sure how winmx part files are made anymore, i used it years ago, on 56k but haven't touched it since.

Sorry bub.

That's a shame, WinMX was good for oldies. :(

What about the opennap servers though, won't they be around still?

If you use winmx use this patch to connect.

Takes a while to connect the first time, but it's ok
