I'm going to start afresh with the latest version and a mod but what files would it be a good idea to keep and transfer to my latest install?
Which files contains my credits, friend list etc.?

I really, really, really wish this thread had started one day earlier, as I also apparently overwrote all my credits etc, and am now getting shitty connections.

Oh well, I've started from afresh it seems.
At least Xtreme is much better at releasing than regular 0.40c.

Your credits are stored on the clients you have uploaded to... All you did was wipe out the credits of people that have uploaded to you.
What you did was delete your ID.... thats how clients ID'd you.
At least... thats how i understand it, i could be completely wrong, and in taht case i sound like an idiot

I wanna piece of advice from you!
At least once a month, when it happens that my win crashes (and normally I have to reboot), after restarting emule, one or two files just dissapear from down list... In the temp drive the files *.bak, *.part, *.met, ... are still there. Anyway, the downloading of these files is entirely fucked up
Is there any chance to save these lost files?
Thank you in advance
(I did not want to start a new thread, since the MCMLXXXVIII's issue is quite similar to mine... At least, I think! )

as long as you haven't repeatedly opened and closed emule, you can simply rename the part.met.bak to part.met
Otherwise, google for the "donkey doctor", you can recover downloads with that
