Ive had this problem for awhile now and i was wondering if any of you have any ideas...
Something happened with my p2p dedicated machine (i think it was service pack 2) and whenever i re-install the xp software, i get alot of script errors. the result of this is that i cant install alot of the normal apps like i would on my main machine.
the biggest problem is that my recycle bin is completely gone and i cant empty it to make room on my hard drive. im running out of drive space quickly! any ideas/suggestions?

ha. no it isnt that simple, im afraid.
i know that the default location is usually something like
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\Recycle Bin
but it just isnt there. i can delete files i just dont know where the recycle bin file goes on my drive. when my low disk space notification pops up, i can click on it but nothing happens.
also, my programs list (from the start menu) doesnt come up. ever. and i cant turn off my system restore.
if anyone has heard of this and knows of a solution, you have my attention. otherwise, my p2p dedicated machine is fubar'd.

hmmm... tried your suggestion, PC (good app btw.) but i believe tweakui only offers adjustments to features and functions that are -available- to adjust. since my recycle bin doesnt exist (apparently), tweakui doesnt give me any options for it.
whereas running tweakui on my main machine, i have the options available.

Have you tried deleteing something an then searching for it via windows search? That will show stuff in the reycle bin, altho this assumes the name and/or location have simply changed.
Is it even possible to tell windows not to use a recycle bin?

How about deleting with shift+del? It removes the files for good and doesn't move them to Recycle Bin.
EDIT: Oops. Someone already said this.

You could try this great freeware for cleaning up the system (recycle bin included, of course):
http://www.ccleaner.com/
If you don't get a script error when installing, that is...
