Title: Army of Darkness
Writers: Sam Raimi & Ivan Raimi / Renaissance Pictures (yeah, as if you didn't know that...)
Artist: John Bolton
Publisher: Dark Horse
Years: 1992-1993. To avoid spoiling the movie, Dark Horse waited with the last issue until it was out. Because of that, the dates are as follows: #01 - November 1992, #02 - December 1992 and #03 - October 1993.
Issues: 3 (complete)
Scanned by: ?? (no idea; if anyone knows who the scanner(s) was/were, please let me know, so they could be credited; unfortunately the files had no tags when I got them)
Short Synopsis: "Army of Darkness" aka "Evil Dead 3" aka "The Medieval Dead" aka "Captain Supermarket" aka "The Ultimate Experience in Medieval Horror" aka "Bruce Campbell vs. Army of Darkness"... come on, is there anybody, who doesn't know what it's about? But for those few people out there, here's the story in short: Ashley J. "Ash" Williams, one of the toughest zombie and demon slayers in the history of horror (and the only survivor of two Evil Dead movies) and "The Classic" (1973 Oldsmobile Delta Royale), in which Sam Raimi (supposedly) lost his virginity (hey, Bruce Campbell said so himself!) find themselves in the 13th century (1300 AD to be precise)... uhm, England? Whatever the place is supposed to be however, doesn't really matter, since right from the start, Deadites make their presence felt and it's up to Ash, his trusty ExcaliSaw and his 12-gauge double-barreled Remington boomstick (Retails for about $109.95 (yes, it's down from $199.95!)! It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger!) to save ye good olde people! And the world! Also to remember some words, get the Necronomicon (bound in human flesh and inked in blood) and get back home (all in a day's work for your neighbourhood S-Mart clerk)!

For those interested, I also got Bruce's book in rtf and html w/pictures formats (this one is converted from html, but without pictures).
Notes: The first issue has some words from Kurt Busiek about the Evil Dead trilogy and in the next two you'll find an interview with Bruce Campbell about the movies and Renaissance Pictures in general (plus his thoughts on the MPAA). The second one also has the poster for the movie at the end. Oh yeah, and the story's also has the
:spoiler: original "I slept too long!" ending.
Starring:
Ash, Our Hero:
The Evil Ash, Another Hero:
The Relatives (not too bright, aren't they?):
The Primitive Screwheads:
Lord Arthur aka "The Chief" (no relation, but yes, he gets that a lot):
Henry "Mr. Fancypants" the Red. Duke of Shale, Lord of the Northlands and leader of its peoples:

Note: As before, the pictures above are downsized from the scans, this time by various ratio (it was a real bitch to squeeze them to look the way I wanted them to; and I'm still not too happy with them). The quality of the scans themselves isn't the best either. On the other hand this is one of those books that really loses quality in scanning.
And a special note from our sponsors:
Remember, shop smart! Shop S-Mart!
PS. Expect more in the near future (yes, the AoD spinoffs go first), as well as (probably) some more stuff from our friends at
http://www.comic-central.com -- which I advise you to keep an eye on closely now, as the guys there are preparing a nice surprise for comics lovers everywhere
I'm not really allowed to say anything more, so just... keep an eye on it...
