I can see you're on TBH V7. I thought you hated this mod?

Nope, I thought all the previous versions were shit, which they were because hidden in the program is some naff code that causes erratic cpu usage on my machine. I hadn't 2 nights ago when I got disconnected and had a chance to try out a few mods, and so far the CPU usage has stayed at a more respectable level. I can only assume that they caught the problem in a bug fix, but the CPU usage is still very high in comparison to every mod out there except emule+ :(

Hey, is it sorted out which version is the bigger, better and uncut one?
I'm on Spud's version (btw, it still needs sharing, you are the only source for 3 chunks), but that of Dxa's looks tempting, so I just want to know which one is less cut.

CUT vs. UNCUT

Can confirm that both versions are uncut. It's "palspeedup" as to why the PAL version is shorter:

Shorter listed running times on PAL DVDs (when compared to NTSC versions of the same movie on DVD) are often due to PAL speedup and does not necessarily mean that any material was cut from the presentation.

CREDITS

DXA version - WaxMask - DvD - DxaRip- 2CD.avi - has credits.
DDX version - Wax.Mask.1997.DvDrip.DivX-DDX.avi - has the credits cut out.

QUALITY

DXA version - WaxMask - DvD - DxaRip- 2CD.avi - Source: Euroshock (NTSC) Dvd - spread on 2 Discs
Quote:
DDX version - Wax.Mask.1997.DvDrip.DivX-DDX.avi - Source Dragon (PAL) Dvd - but on 1 Disc only

The print on show is almost perfect, by that I mean that there are a few rare speckles that appear in a couple of frames that only the hardcore of print fetishists would give a damn about (but if I don't mention it then someone will!) Other than that the image is bright, clean and sharp - in fact so much more than it's US counterpart which is somewhat darker and not as clean as here

CONCLUSION

Both Rips are UNCUT, the DXA has a slightly Better Resolution - But the Images are a little bit Darker than the DDX-Rip, so...

...in the end, I guess, you have to decide for yourself.

BTW - How do you take Screenshots from avi's, mpegs... Is there a special tool or something...?

Thanks for your summary, @Rotten, I just wanted to know if the running times are different because of the cuts or different framerates.

I don't like flicks with the credits cut out. And sayin that Dxa's version looks tempting I meant the resolution. I think I could go for this one...

Avis --> Virtualdub/virtualdubmod/nandub, go to video>copy source frame to clipboard (ctrl-1), then paste it into some paint app.

When the source goes down like that for a share I have posted that usually means I am capping something else and am saving memory for the cap.I don't usually take stuff down unless I post it out so don't worry about getting this completed it will stay up for as long as it takes. It is shared on another computer though so you might try an a4af or switching to a different server if you can't find it all, usually one of the big ones will have me though.

Another way is playing them in WMP and hitting ctrl+I and saving the image wherever. :wacky:

I'm trying both files. I don't like rips without credits, but I might get the DDX one quicker...
