Maybe I am paranoid or whatever, but could it be that the time on the server is set wrong? It is one hour ahead of what it should be.

When I click view newest posts in the thread "More Zombie Porn!" in /Horror Fanatics Cabal

I get this: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=15604&view=unread#unread (the release thread of "My Best Friend IS A Vampire" in /Screeners and unverified releases)

It seems some post IDs got mixed up too.

that is not at all likely, the clock is more likely to have been reset.
I no longer have root access to the box since the host bungled a migration. Can't do anything until i get that back.

okay i know what's happened, the fucking idiot has fucked up a data migration, turned off the old box then asked us to update the DNS. i've updated the DNS to the new server, where upon i stated he hadn't switched the new box on. He then assigned the new ips to the old box, rebuilt a new server then switched ips. So the data is now spread across two fucking boxes.

So all the data posted during that time is on the old server, but i can't insert it into the new database now because there have been posts since.

Is this also the cause of the mixing up of the post ID's?

I don't think there are any mixed up postids, if you mean the unread link you posted, it will go to the first post it believes to be unread which is based upon datetime stamp not post id. Post ids and time are mutually exclusive, topics are ordered by datetime rather than postid.

Well mysql when locked said there were two post ids the same could simply be that, but it won't be posts being on two different servers.

okay slayer, your id is the one at the top of the page:
Code:
Duplicate entry '190814' for key 1 [1062]

So when i repairded the table it will have updated one of the duplicates to a new number, but not updated references. You had a 1/180585 chance of finding that link

I think that the server has no been completely migrated; there is one outstanding issue which is that the clock is wrong which I think it is getting from the server bios. When this is reset it might cause some mild freakiness since we'll be going back in time 2 hours, but barring staying with a 2 hour out clock there's nothing much we can do about that one :(

Its with our highly capable (handicapable?) host

When I transload an image and insert it to a topic (using quick reply) it keeps on waiting and doesn't show up. But if I go to topic the I see that it's already inserted. Not a big problem, like said you can get around it, but annoying nevertheless :beerchug:

sorry, I'm not sure what you mean there pure... you mean you post an image in the quick reply and it doesn't appear?

I think he means that he doesn't get any response of images having been transloadedes to dead-donkey when he uses the quick reply feature.

Well yes and no, let me refrase myself a bit then;
I've transloaded an image using:
http://images.dead-donkey.com/transload/transload.php
Then I tried to post the outcome (of this transload) using the quick reply box in the forums. When I pressed Submit the page kept on loading and loading and loading.... But if I CTRL-Clicked the thread title, so it opens in a new tab in FireFox, it already showed the image I was trying to post. I hope this makes sense :googley: :beerchug:

Sounds like your network connection had a timeout. Does this happen regularly?
