I got one question though...are all those images that were posted before on the old site still valid or am I going to have to reup everything I posted before?

To mass add files, say in a collection, its easier to just login via ftp, drag and drop em across then, in your thread do a "find and replace" hhahfiles with dxadogpr0ndump or whatever your site is called

was I supposed to tag the top set as well? on the chmod?ie set uid set gid and so on?Also hit the tag for subfolders too?I did the 777 and every box was checked except those

Hmm, 666, i think i pressed the wrong key lol. It should obviously have read and write (and execute) for each. Its easier checking boxes anyway

yep,then I did it right...I must have screwed something up in the code..do I need frontpage or something to make the php work or can I just rename the file to .php?
From what I could tell there was only one spot were anything had to be renamed in the code itself

nope php is a 'programming language', nothing fancy but a php host needed. No database usage in the script, as long as you have an image that complies to the filesize limitations (500kb) and your destination 'uploads' is read/write all, then it should work fine.

That is unless your timing out uploading a large image. Test with your avatar or something and see if that works.

I can upload fine..it just doesn't link to the file...I'll try drag and drop and see how that works.When I go into the upload folder via ftp There is nothing there...So I am not sure what I did wrong

Ok,just shoot me.....I knew it was something stupid....I capitalized the U in uploads....problem solved....to the whipping post I go again

don't worry you're not the only person to have made that mistake spud helped me out with this a few weeks ago when i made a lycos acct

na, that was you forgetting to chmod not name the directory

I'll wait a few days to see if the old site comes back with the images and then go from there.
