That one should be done already, you can filter out what movies you have and haven't seen, what editions you have and haven't seen and what media you have and haven't seen pretty easily.

I handled reading and writing of movies and editions, once i get the control class for media sorted should be in a decent state to start adding some more functionality.

As a little aside, i did some googling and found and implemented a very nice bit of programming so the program minimizes to tray:

Which is handy since minimizing to tray always gives you more space to work with on a busy desktop
Doesn't support linux though, so its handled and filtered out if it can't find the windows tray area.

released a gui test if anyone cares, you can run and have a look at it, won't do much, can't add movies, but you can play around with the view movies. I imported a butt load from emm before hand.

Yes and no. Yes it is my intention to develop and produce some software and been slowly adding the odd bit. No its not progressing as fast as I'd like, i just don't have much time to develop it.
EMM just takes too long, and it doesn't do stuff like hash edonkey links (maybe it does now? I haven't launched the program for ages now_

That totally wouldn't work for me, what with thousands of movies, and all the codec details, imdb data, etc.
I'm beyond static lists, although for a small collection its probably the easiest way.

PHP & MYSQL
yeah that will be very simple, all apart from reading details from the avi and hashing, and getting info from imdb. Those aspects will be pretty hard actually.

Looking good Spud.
I'm a beta tester for DVD Collector. The current version we're testing (version 2) was looking excellent - you can customise almost anything and play videos from it, but unfortunately the creator hasn't done much on it this year, so I'm doubting it will get a release, as some parts need a fair bit of work, it's probably not worth using unless it was definitely coming out. Version 1 was released, but it was nowhere near v2.
Another one maybe worth looking at is CATvids, I thought that was pretty good. You can customzie a fair bit of it, and browse movies by director/cast etc, it sort keeps two movie databases, one of your dvds/vhs/divx etc and one of movies, so works well for mutliple movies on one disc/tape. It's cool that you can click heaps of different things like awards, cast/crew, format (divx/dvd etc) and see what other movie are the same.

Hadn't seen EMM before, so just downloading now. I hope it's not better than CATvids - I've just spent the past few weeks entering my collection into it
