Well here is an anomally with Bittorrent. I started to download a file from a registration site about 3 weeks ago. I didn't realise at the time that the tracker automatically removed the torrent after one month. Anyway it was slow to download and I got to about 70% before I soon got the message "Error Torrent not registered on this site" and it went red in Azureus, with no seeds, no peers.
Normally I would have binned it there and then, but sorta left it - must have forgot about it. Well, after a few days the file had increased a few percent. Wtf, so I left it just to see. 2 weeks later and it's at 99.1% right now. I don't know if it will ever complete.
Does anyone understand this! As I write this it's red as it's always been with again, 0 seeds (1 in swarm), 0 peers, but I'm sure in the morning it will have crept up a little and maybe even complete one day this year.
Weird!

"Error Torrent not registered on this site"
means the torrent site removed it from the tracker, so your requesting for a peer list of a file that doesn't exist. Think of it as a 404: File not found.
Just try the ftp2donkey method, if it gets stuck for ages. Hopefully it will be shared on emule.

my guess is that your client remembers the peers it found from the last time the tracker was up and running.
keep your connection up or you'll change IP address at the next reconnection and the peers will not be able to find you anymore.
good luck!

Well, the only thing I can think of is I've had Azureus running the whole time and my connection hasn't dropped for a while (2 months now??). So maybe tweye, you could be right.
Still very odd though when Az shows no seeds or peers!!
Also, sad as I am, I've watched the details and pieces in Az and not once seen a byte downloaded. Must be coming from the ether somehow when I'm asleep LOL. Or Gremlins??

Well if the server ditched it then it won't be able to retreive a peer list.

maybe it's that seed in "swarm" (i dont know what it is) that contacts your client when you fall asleep he he
maybe the "swarm" is a pool of peers which your client knows the existance of, but are not directly connected to your client. then once in a while your client picks some peers from the swarm when it's in need.
the client cant refresh the swarm cause the tracker dropped the torrent, so it can only remember the last ones it saw when the torrent was still alive.
ok now i stop cause i'm dangerously stepping into the "wtf i'm talking about" land...

na, that sounds pretty much how BT works.
Oh well, try the ftp2donkey anyways, you may be able to salvage most the download for emule downloading.... I'm stuck with loads of episodes partially downloaded since tv-swarm went down

did you try to use a torrent from btefnet.net? if it's a scene release, the hash should match... (of course only if the episode is listed at btefnet too)

no, they don't have the same rips. Its full 700mb HDTV vs some lol'd versioned ones at 350mb.
Hopefully tv-swarm will be back eventually

Well that original file I mentioned did eventually finish; and it's still only February. I never did see anything but red the whole time. Still shared too (with nobody downloading of course, yet there is still 0 seeds, 0 peers, but 1 in swarm). Anyway I like to think it's gremlins still. Very odd though!!
