Fuck me SPud, you writing a novel? LOL

Seriously tho, you pretty much summed up everything I thought, ED2K was always inferior IMHO, others may find it cool, but not me, I like huge amounts of sources to gain maximum speed.

The thing I will not ever tolerate is poor uploads, and afraid this delivers in this department. I upload huge amounts, infact way more than I ever download, and this just delivered poor performance.

This thread actually sparked me to try some other clients, currently on mldonkey. Upload on that is lowish atm, but that's due to the fact i'm running bitcomet.

Sharing out to some emules and shaza pretty nice.

The sweet thing about mldonkey is a seperate solid core and then, although unfortunately not a solid enough one, a gui of your choice. Saves a lot of resources.

I haven't added any edonkey part files to check downloading though.

I don't think there's such thing as a best, only best for you. The mods can be argued over. I think MorphXT, Pawcio and Neomule are the clear favourites atm.

MorphXT is pretty solid.

can every body instead of being negetive just give me an ed2k link they could download faster with emule then ed2k lite??

i mean if its so bad then that shoud not be a problem right??

and also i shold have no problem dublicating it myself also.

so please instead of being negetive how about some ed2k so i can atleast see it for my self.

i hope we are all trying to be objective instead of just bad mouthing. in which case anybody that realy tried it, should not have any problems giving me the ed2k link/s that they had a horroble time with.

again thx for taking the time. :beerchug:

Your fighting a losing battle the mann. I used overnet and edonkey both last year and couldn't get jack shit from it. Then when i became a vocal member here everybody said to use emule. Now everything is good.

Seriously who are you trying to kid with this? No control over uploads whatsoever with edonkey. Have you ever tried to share anything with it? It's impossible. Your not going to convince me because like i said i just switched from edonkey/overnet last year and tried emule and would never go back. You want real speed? Like Takyon said get torrents. There's no way from that pic you posted you always get 400kb/s. That's once in a million with the ed2k network. I'm guessing it's not a screenshot from your client but from someone else who got lucky one day and hit prtscr at the right time for that pic and you used his for this argument. Or how many downloads is that going? 100? 200? You don't say. See with bt you can get 100kb/s+ with EACH file if your connection permitted it. Not a whole pile of downloads at once added togethor for the total download.

Really your not going to win this argument on this forum. I have tried both edonkey and emule recently. Emule wins hands down. Everytime. But your courage is duely noted :)

while you are bussy just forcing your opinion i'm realy trying to get to the bottom of the facts.

and i'm just displaying what edonkey and emule are doing.

i'm not fighting anybody, i'm just posting the facts that i'm finding.

try to be objective.

i'm sorry emule is not downloading the file while edonkey is downloading already, i didn't do it, thats just how the 2 clients are.

as i said i still have to see who gets it first.

you are contradicting yourself already, first you said you tried it last year and at the end you are saying you tried it recently.

well i'm showing right now on the same pc, same port and everything being the same what the results are.

why don't you sit back and watch what happenes. if you are right then you got nothing to worry about, emule should get it faster.

so lets see.

Uploads? You haven't addressed the issue of uploads

so you're using two clients on on computer at the same time? There's several inbuilt "anti-leech" features in emule, including one that detects if two sourses has the same ip. Some clients will then ban one of them.

More so, if it's the same port, they might "interfere" with each other.

and while you are saying that edonkey lite might be better to download, what about the complaints about uploading?

Been a long time since I used edonkey last now, but remember one of the things that really bugged me, was that while it might be fast to download 1 or 2 files, it really sucks when you're downloading like 250 files at the same time, like I am doing now. It couldn't handle the source amount or something.... Though as I said, it was a long time since I tried it last, so it might have been fixed

Here's an experiment.

Try using only edonkey lite to get one file without a lot of sources, with emule closed.

Then try using emule to get the exact same file again, with edonkey lite closed.

See which goes faster.

NO I'M not using both clients at the same time, isn't that jsut a stupid thing to do??

roflmao.

taking turns of half an hour each. i will also just give each of them a whole day to themselves just incase.

@fierysky that is what i do and every time edonkey downloads and gets it faster. i did not want to make statement based on my terms i wanted to show you guys. that this happenes every time.

so far now edkl ite has downloaded 22MB and emule has 5.81MB

this ed2k that the admin has suggested has very little sources in both emule and edonkey.

ok so far about 6 hours into it and this is what i have

Image

Image

as you can see edk lite has 43MB of the file while emule only has about 7MB of the file.

but its still early in the game emule can come back and get it at any time, which is all that counts.

will be back later with updates. :beerchug:

To be honest, even if EDlite finished the file in 1/4 of the time that emule did, this probably isn't the right site for it.

The vocal users of this site either Release files or help those that do to a HUGE extent with uploading and re-sharing, the issue with ed2k and EDlite is that there are NO upload controls and that the upload speeds are less than stellar.

This software may well do well @ sites who have the SC/SR (remember them?!) "grab it all" mentality, but here it's more about the community and a client that acts like a leech client (even unintentionally) isn't going to go down well, as you can see from this discussion, the program has been critiscised for it's upload behaviour and you've been asked more questions about uploads than down and you have spectacularily failed to answer even one of them.
