I do not mind Azureus, the 2200 client is awesome for me, the upload cap works perfectly, the downloads are always fast, and it does not use as many resources as earlier versions. Best of all the newest version has not crashed once, crashing was a problem for me in previou versions.

I might give this a try tho just to see what all the fuss is about.

Yeah great. Must be real experts the programmers of turbotorrrent. Programmed in Python + using wxWidgets, but only a windoze version. Idiots.

TurboTorrent looks pretty similar to G3 Torrent which is an excellent client, usually thought of as a leecher mod but while it can be configured as such this is not the default.

Was an ABC client user, but since moving to Azereus, had no problems and very pleased.

Although that turbo torrent has got my interest!!!

I'm using Azureus on a gnu/linux machine.
Latest vesrion runs smooth with no big problems.
I'm not able to efficiently cap the download bandwith, but i think this is a "problem" related to the TCP protocol.
oh, and the "Statistics" tab takes a few seconds to refresh.

Lean and mean. Not many features, but as long as it downloads I don't care.

oh and the reason I moved from ABC, was that one upgrade they did had a bug in it.
Were if you highlighted more then one torrent and selected remove torrent from list, it did that and deleted the download from your hard drive :o
I lost a good few downloads from that :matrix:

next time you load it up can and have a couple of torrents going can you ctrl+alt+del and take a alt+printscreen please?

Just interested to see how it performs.

Mine never crashed or anything, but it uses a fair chunk of ram, and when it gets going the CPU time is seemingly speradic

Well the one i use is outdated but it's still the best one i've found for seeding. It hasn't been in production for over a year now and the site to get it at is no longer up. UPnP NAT Fast Resume Shad0w is what it's called. I don't know why but i can seed faster using that one than any other client. With all the other clients i usually average 11-12kb/s but with this one i probably average 14-15kb/s.

I've tried bittornado, bitcomet(such potential but WHERE THE FUCK IS THE SUPERSEED OPTION!!), G3, burst, abc, Azureus(horrible for Super Seeding but good for everything else), PTC(or what I refer to it as Personal Torrent Crap!! Right Nomad!! ), TorrentStorm, Bit Spirit, and i'm sure there's others but none are as good as the UPnP NAT Fast Resume Shad0w for seeding.

I'm sure all those ones i mentioned above are all good for downloading but 99.9% of what i do is upload on torrents. I download off all the other p2p applications to bring them to torrents. It's the only way i can up stuff to the most people in the shortest amount of time is on bt.

I totally fucked up what I meant spud, what I meant was the cpu usage was practically none, and this was a vast improvement given earlier versions usage for me. It still uses a fair old chunk of memory tho, but this is not an issue for me tho.

Why use Torrent at all when there's Emule?
I have yet to desire a file I can't get from Emule.

TV episodes and games, *especially* games on BT for me.

Downloading games in emule is intollerably slow, even by emule standards.

I use shareaza because I have a router so it's less of a bother to open/close ports with one client for all networks. I haven't tried a lot of clients so I wouldn't know if it's the fastest one. It probably has more overhead than a specialized program so no ;p
