Some peopl have been having problems with nero occasionally giving them "power calibration" errors, in order to fix this, do the following :

1 on desktop click start
2 select control panel
3 click on administrative tools
4 click on services
5 browse your way down to IMAPI CD BURNING COM SERVICE
6 right click (on IMAPI) then select properties
7 in the middle of the window it will say start up type.click on the arrow to the right and select disabled.
8 make sure you click APPLY

And it should fix the problem, even if you aren't sufferring from the error, this is worth doing anyway as it decreases the time taken for nero to start HUGELY!

Alternatively, your media sucks and you shouldn't be so cheap, because that's the message it shows for incompatible media too

Try it, the speed difference opening Nero is incredible (on my machine anyway).

Weirdly the ONLY time I've ever had that Power Calibration error was using Verbatim DL media on my old Pioneer 108, cheap POS media it was fine with - HATED DL media

I don't actually use nero

@crap media, my old, old, old HP cd writer used to do it. (this was back when cd writers used to cost £200, but i know that when you get media your drive doesn't like it does the power calibration thing still)
