oh dear lord not another one, :wacky:
Read this stuff on the principle of ever re-encoding to avi to mpeg2, you don't need to do it and i'd estimate the main body of posters on the site will not do it:

There's a notable trend to the answer i give, and its, why on earth would you convert an avi to vob anymore?

short: most people don't even convert avis to vobs because there's absolutely no need to. Not for several years now since MPEG4 standalones were invented, and before that TV-Out. You substantially downgrade and "irreversably contaminate" by downgrading from MPEG4 to MPEG2.

However, on your specific question without a lecture, if your still hell bent on the back to the primitive ways:

Same question more or less.

most of it is me bitching to be fair, last link if you don't want to consider the process your taking (ie. stop re-encoding, and get an upgrade).

I would strongly suggest doing so, you will save vast amounts of time and retain 100% quality.
