Hi. I want to do this since mine is corrupted by adware - it's not in the add/remove programs folder or the windows components folder in controle panel. What do I do? Searched the whole net to no advance.

Explorer 6.0 = Internet Explorer 6.0?

I don't think you can uninstall IE at all. It is deeply mired into windows itself. How about installing a different browser and setting it to be the standard for opening websites?
My windows is fucked up because of some Vundo trojan and McAfee blocks all attempts it mades to display ads - I've never ever seen a single one. :P However the popup of the virus scanner is annoying - but that could be turned off I guess. Nevertheless, I see no way to get rid of Internet Explorer under windows - sorry.

How about migrating to Linux? Download a one CD life system of Ubuntu to test it and if you like it, overwrite windos. :wink:

Hehe wow that's too much. It's just that this file called (wait till it pops up i will update here) starts, internet explorer starts and a popup with an add appears. annoying as fuck.

try adaware or CCleaner, better yet, after doing that go to www.getfirefox.com and ditch that cobblepot browser altogether. Its got hijacked because its a terrible browser and allows access to the central operating system via its "plugin" system.

Ditch it, its the worst out of the big four browsers;
1. Mozilla Firefox
2. Opera
3. Safari (imo a crap browser)
4. Internet Explorer

You can trick IE and all dull programs using it by choosing a non existing proxy server at your connection settings in IE.

This speeds up the starting of Valve's Steam for instance.

There is a possibility to completely deactive IE with a tool, but I can't remember its name. :(
