Ok.. after years of spud going on how newsgroups are teh way t go I have decided to try them out....

Just a few questions...

1) What is a good binrary leecher? Freeware or opensource would be best.

2) I logged inot my isps newgroup thing using outlook but it had no binrary groups.... I know that some newsgroups are diffrent or w/e... If my isp dose not have binraries what do you do then.. change isp?

1) Are you windows or linux? Newsbin Pro or SABnzbd
2) you need the alt.binaries groups, if your isp does not carry them you'll need to get a subscription to them somehow

I've been thinking about taking the plunge as well. I wish I would have taken advantage of alt.binaries for movies instead of porno when my isp was still carrying them.
I still remember the day I tried to connect to alt.binaries.bigbutts
The only things that have me on the fence about newsgroups now is the cost and file selection. I've been using emule almost exclusively for the past two months and frankly, i'm burnt out on torrents. What is the file selection like?

great and the nice thing is you can continue using your mule plus newsgroups at the same time :)

take a look at these sites to see what you can get:
http://nzbmatrix.com/
http://www.nzbsrus.com/

some search engines:
http://binsearch.info/
http://www.newzleech.com/

I watch a lot of anime and asian movies so I also visit these:
http://www.animeusenet.org/
http://www.asianusenet.com/index.php
http://www.omni-forums.com/index.php

Astraweb is upgrading their retention to 365 days and you can still grab this offer:

Unlimited DSL - US$ 11 every month

i was going to try hxxp://www.news.astraweb.com/ I am not really in the market for a new monthly fee... but they have a cool deal for 25 bucks you get 120 gig... that you cna use at any time you wish.... seams like a god way to start...... .. . .

So... once you have teh server and the leecher app... (newsbinz is not open source or freeware btw it is like 60AU :(

When you look at the headers... how can you tell if the entire files are there.... Like years and years ago I had problems by leechign tons of mails but then find out i am missing part 5000 of some file... . .. .. . Can you check before you leech or somthing?

Ok.... finaly got this woring and I have to say I am pretty blown away....

was a bit expensive to set up, when you are used to 100% free warez... but still. With the NBZ files it is as simple as click, leech. No ratios, nothing... just files... pretty darn cool.

Dose anyone remeber the URLs for the scene nfo listings? Like I used to use isonews then that went and used nforce but i can nt find that anymore... as with out teh community to tell u if a file is good or not NBZ's seam liek a bit of a risk to download. So I am looking for a nfo site so I can see what is nuked and fix released by other groups and stuff.

I'll put it like this...If someone can find me all 14 episodes of Nemuri Kyoshiro (Sleepy Eyes of Death) on Usenet, i'll bite.

Looks like the last two were posted 80 days ago

Probably be able to find more, but in whole honesty I have no idea what it is. Sounds like the last two in a series of films.

I saw that too. I did a search earlier this afternoon and saw the same thing. I found some torrents, but the asshole who put them up as dvd-r's and even then, not all of them have full seeds. Only a few episodes are available with more than one full source on the mule.

You will probably have more look looking for more specific movie titles (subtitles), i saw remnants of 1 and 2 posted 160 days ago. You can go on and request a repost, that works sometimes :)

http://www.bintube.com/?q=aen-nk1

they are still 100% available on my side.

You could also try asking for a reshare @ ACF (ed2k forum). Search for Nemuri Kyoshiro and you will find the release threads.

Private trackers where you might also get a reshare are FSS (DVDRips) or ADC (DVDs).
