Any of you guys point me in the direction of a decent, but cheap, company online that can do a new base unit for me?

I have a severely limited budget, 280 squids, but have found a sucker to buy me old base unit. The minimum spec will be:-

64 meg grfix card, shit I know but I donot need any more

around a 2400-2600 cpu, again, nothing special but way more than I got now, a 1.3 gig athlon

atleast 80 gig 7200rpm HDD

Ram will be initially 256 meg DDR, I know a fella who can sort me out half a gig more in a few weeks time.

Anyone care to point me in a direction of a site then? i found a few that lemme design a custom base unit online, but prices for basically the same thing vary wildly. one company, I forget the name, quoted me 600 squids for the above spec LOL

Spudcrust enterprises. Sounds like you want to buy a pre-built box. My best advice would be don't, build one yourself.

Basically what you want is a motherboard with everything you need, LAN, soundcard, etc. Get yourself a Athlon 2400+ (best price to power ratio period), crucial direct can get you some cheapass but varely noticable speed decrease ram.
