Can anyone reccomend some software to do a quickie conversion from a PAL DVD to NTSC DVD (and if possible provide a e-mule link), and yes I have a DVD burner so I can copy all files from the DVD to my HD do the conversion then burn to DVD to make a real disc. If anyone is curious it's a unrated version of an old nasty called The Slayer, should be here in a few days. Unfortunately the only US NTSC copies I can find are VHS and rated - yuck! :-o Also I did use this sites search function but no results came back, so ,sorry if this has been asked before. |

I have been looking into this myself quite a bit recently, as I do not like multi VTS dvdr disks (a single dvdr with ntsc and pal vobs) The results of myfinding were that there are NOT any real easy ways to do it. First up try ATLANTIS and DVDfilm Maker. There are simple one click solutions for pal and NTSC conversion... Atlantis is a full solution for ntsc 2 pal, but dvd film maker is for pal 2 ntsc and you will need goldwave or besweet to sync the audio. ed2k: DVFilm.Maker.+.Atlantis.Cracked.rar [1.06 Mb] [Stats] This app was written by one of the doom9 forum members and it creates ASV files to drop into cce that will automate the converstion... again you will neeed to sync the audio yuorself. dloneranger's homebrew app ScreenShot Also try this app Dynapel.Motionperfect.4.3 That is another one I have had recommended to me at forum.doom9 but havn't tested. Ahh even more to try. I'm hoping I'm lucky and my region free player will just plain work - but I'm never that lucky. Won't know till the movie gets here, just figure I'd prepare in advance. ![]() |

Bare in mind that it is always best to keep stuff in the original format. PAL-->NTSC/NTSC-->PAL reduces quality significantly. |

Well I have, besides my nice Sony and Panasonic DVD players, a Coby that I unlocked via commands on the remote to be region free. Hopefully that will allow me to convert the PAL signal directly on the player. I can also just copy the DVD directly with DVDShrink, strip the region encoding and any Macrovision and watch it on the PC. If I'm lucky the DVD will be on of the 60Hz PAL copies and work on my TV, albeit at a slightly off res. Like I said though, if not for bad luck, I wouldn't have any at all. |
