I accidentally stumbled upon this neat little app. It's basically what the Windows Task Manager SHOULD have been.

Security Task Manager provides advanced information about all running processes (applications, DLL's, BHO's and services). For each process it shows in addition in contrast with Windows Task-Manger:
file name and directory path
security risk rating
description
start time
CPU usage graph
program icon
contained hidden functions

process type
e.g. visible window, systray program, DLL, IE-Plugin, service

The Security Task Manager recognizes also virtual driver software, services, BHO and other processes hidden from the Windows task manager.

I've been using process explorer myself, which gives a lot more details than task manager:
