I'm still working this thing out - Learning as I go ( and pissing off a some people by just cutting off downloads).... But this DC++ thingy got some rare movies on it Dammit! ![]() Apparently a lot of our yankee friends are on that network,Though it's also swarming with scandinavians... After 5 mins of browsing I found much sought Toxie 3, Contamination and the Crazies....oh yeah .... ![]() ![]() (No,I didn't download any yet...My upload is killing my download... there is this tool but dickens do I know what to do with it - not an exe in sight just source or binaries and not a install guide in sight...) No relax I won't leave donkey or this board ! ![]() I just like teasing D0c-LOL To be continued no doubt.... |

Me and DC never really got a long to tell you the truth. I first used it on 56k which I found was impossible, the program wasn't designed for it. The next problem I encounted was the "you must share XXX GB of data". When i finally got broadband a year and a while ago, and invested in my HDD, I got it up and running but encounted the same problems you do now. It is so easy to upload, and I get lots of people doing so immediately when joining a hub, the problem I had was getting things to download. They just took ages to start, because of the high queue and low speeds that the people before me get. I think the app is for trading, and I have bad experience when it comes to that (namely caused by getting incomplete/corrupt or wrong files back in return). Another problem was that all the hubs were run by snotty little brats. I think if you have patience that you can get a lot of stuff of direct connect, but you need to find a decent hub, be willing to stick in there for a while without getting much in return and having to put up with some of the tits you get using the program. |

There are some programs that cap your upload at a certain speed per program, you might want to try that out. Or is there one built into direct connect? |

There IS this inbuilt feature that sends stuff in smaller packages - Only helps a bit Instead of 1kb/s you have around 5 kb/s when upload at full capacity.... Then there is this other tool wich has lot of options among bandwith regulation.....but I think it's in script !That's chinese to me! ![]() You have a source and this binaries....not a site in sight But already, reading thru the dc++ forum,THAT doesn't help either for some, indeed even most ! The tool is called dc++k |

The DC kids doesn't like when people cap their upload, so keep quiet about it ![]() I stopped using DC for the reasons Spud mention above and because there isn't any crc checks on downloads.. The crc check is what i like most with eMule.. |
