Loads

What channel are you broadcasting on?
SSID enabled?
Wireless mode? (g only, g and b)
WEP enabled?
What modes does the card support?
Range?

Does the card see the network, but just can't connect?

-is that the router assigned ip?
-does it show connected?

One of the biggest headaches I had was just the correct installation of the card on my notebook. Just kept forgetting to insert the card before booting up, instead of after, even though everything seemed to go fine as far as the drivers were concerned.

That's the generic MS IP assigned when dhcp fails.

He's on a notebook.

He did shutdown and restart.

/he's a senior database engineer. So doubt it's him.

Give your router help line a call, heheheh

Makes me think of some problems I had when I first got my router. Called up Linksys hoping for some tips and tricks... ended up with a guy on the other end simply amazed that I was streaming video from my desktop onto my notebook. Geeez

well that's a good thing sort of... should be disabled by default on both ends. That way nobody is bound by matching up keys, etc.

Does his notebook see the network? What is your SSID name?

Even when I couldn't connect, I could aways see the broadcast SSID. If he can't see the wireless network as an availbe one to connect to... something not set up right, mode or something...

no problem, wish I could have helped more...

My guess, its a compatability thing that should be solved by the new card...

omg, this is the nightmare scenario i suddenly have with my ipaq. At first it wouldn't work, blah blah, got it working somehow... then my ipaq had to be formatted, and now the damn thing just doesn't connect to my pc.

It's driving me nuts. For the record, my Ipaq gets that "fucked ass 169.xxx.xxx.xxx IP" too :matrix: :matrix: :matrix: :matrix: :matrix: :eatthis:

It should be simple, I mean I only need ad-hoc connection.

For the record WiFi is hella-gay :matrix:
