Post subject:  New mouse

I've just bough a new mouse to replace the POS M$ intellimouse 4 that died on me after ~6 months :(

The Logitech MX1000 laser mouse [/url] and whilst it was fairly expensive, it is SUPERB, like no other mouse I've ever used, the speed and accuracy is incredible, there are NO tracking problems, even on a mirror(!).

I wholehearted reccomend it to everyone :D

I like me Labtec Pro thingy, does what it says on the box. I was thrilled when I got my first laser mouse, never went back to that ball shit.

Hmmm I've heard complaints about it(dunno if they were speculators or owners mind). "Its a wireless one which means what it makes up for in accuracy, it doubles in lag... Battery life is supposed to be about for minutes too", etc. :(

I've had a wireless mouse before and it was terrible, so I probably won't be buying one of those again.

Well, there is NO lag at all, no innacuracies either. Battery life is ~21 days according to owners of the mouse (but I haven't had the chance to test it yet!)

I cannot stress just how nice this mouse is though, it's certainly a step up from the M$ Intellimouse v4 I had before :)

I like my Microsoft 5-button Optical.

It has a wire, it doesn't have a mouse ball, I don't have to clean it, I don't need a mousepad, and the Back-Forward buttons are GREAT.

I won't buy 3-button mice anymore.

I'm REALLY impressed with M$'s customer service, After replacing my M$ intellimouse v4 with the above, I thought I'd give microsoft a ring to see if they'd do something about my 6 month old intellimouse.

I had no proof of purchase at all, and yet I've been sent a replacement and was told not to bother returning the old one !!

Yeah...but...I mean...they don't care.
What does it cost them to produce it? $7 a unit maybe? Less?
Bill Gates could buy you a hundred million of em, and when the bill arrived he'd turn to Melinda and say "I think I left my wallet in my other pants".
(Reportedly what he actually said to her when the bill for his 50 million dollar Lake Washington Manor came in).

I have never had problems like lag with any of my wireless mice. The only problem I have is moving too far away from the PC

Gaming geeks will call your bluff on that if there are any around. I'm not as bothered about the lag, which is kind of noticable from the logitech mouse I used to have, but the battery life was.

I guess a rechargable one isn't quite a big an issue, but the old one left a sour taste for wireless ones.

I have a m$ wires one, never had any problems with accuracy or anything, but I mean, I have a mouse mat so I don't really think there'd be much difference.

I play games, and I will say it once more THERE IS NO LAG ON THIS MOUSE
Battery life is ~21 days of standard use before a recharge (i'm on 3 days now)

M$ mice were ok up until the Intellimouse v4 which was utter shit

I'm wondering if your mouse is coing to collect so much dirt as mine. I'm on MX700 and this mouse is just fucking incredibly great, no lag here either, but I can tell you one thing, the thing that happens to it every two weeks is just outrageous. The way it's constructed, the dirt very easily enters the space between the buttons and the case. So, after a few weeks of using the clicking begins to get more and more unpleasant to hear, and finally, in the last stage, it's even hard to press the buttons. My first MX700 was serviced twice and then they decided it has to be replaced because "there's something seriously wrong with it". So I got another one, which did exactly the same. It's 3 times in 6 months. Funny it comes with a 5 year guarantee.

Just to make it clear, I don't use it in a slaughterhouse or in the middle of a sand storm. The room is usually quite clean, and so are my hands. It's not exposed to any kind ef extreme conditions. And no other mouse I had had this problem.
