Same way everything else is done on the GC, by using the PC to stream data through the BB adaptor |

you asked
I answered
Whether it counts in your eyes or not doesn't matter to me, nor I would imagine would it matter to the GC linux community. |

I think the linux thing was posted ages ago in the summer, in the huge Gamecube thread about injecting code via a broadband adapter. its in this section somewhere. Its great to see linux on these system, but you really have to think to yourself, whats the point? ![]() |

@Ohgod, please do not mock d0cs mum, he gets a bit sensitive. Back to the topic, I am outta the loop with consoles, any reason you would want linux on a GC? |

good so I'm not the only one who thinks its silly... I'd imagine its for batting out and compiling code for gamecube architecture, but don't quote me on that. For end non-developer peeps I think there is none. Although its a nice symbol of acheivement, and I think people get some cash prizes for converting distros onto weird and wonderful devices so I guess there's self-gratification.... most people just have a wank though i'd imagine ![]() |

i dont see the point in linux either, all i want is somekind of mod-chip and a way to play backup gc games, i heard they are selling the dvd gc use.... so is everyone happy with the connect to pc stream crap? is this the final solution? i am not going to buy any gc before i see a modchip or something better than the stream methode.... |

I agree with d0c TBH, the streaming from the PC is a pain in the ass, it would be nice to just put a disk in and play a pirated game. In fact it's such a pain I actually BOUGHT a couple of games recently, I mean what were Nintendo thinking when the came up with all that copy protection ?? bastards ![]() |

It works perfectly (ok, not movies) for smaller games... like Zelda: Four Swords. Some of them though just don't cut it ![]() No game has really interested me since zelda for the consoles though anyways, so thats not a big loss. |

ps2 and xbox mod-chip is out allready, it cant be harder to make one for the gc either,, what is taking so long? is it the fear of nintendos lawyers that are protecting this hellraiser cube??? |

Oh I dunno d0c, you should look into the legal side of mod chips here in the UK. It is pretty dodgy now. |
