Post subject:  Console to PC pad adapters

I just ordered a couple of these and a PS2 controller from Lik-Sang:

SmartJoy PLUS PS2 to USB adapter:

The best gamepad my fingers have touched, on the PC! YAY! :D

Even more interesting (these are a future purchase for sure):

Super SmartJoy SNES to USB adapter:

Third party SNES controller:

killer stuff, and not too expensive either! (the snes controller is 2.4 EUR )

also I love it that Lik-Sang accepts direct euro area bank transfers (using SWIFT and IBAN bank codes), with no bank fees or anything.

cheapest shipping from Hong Kong takes 7-20 days though :o
the last time I ordered something from Hong Kong it took 11 days I think... (I live in Finland)

*fixed topic title*

I have a Gamecube -> PC usb converted, and it works okay although not the wavebird which is a shame, cos I'd use it a heck of a lot more then. You simply must install a program called JoyToKey if you own a pad for the pc. You'll understand why when you install it.

However, pads are shitty. PCs have the advantage with more accurate controls, this severely comprimises that and ruins most games I use pads on. The subset of games that are okay with pads is small, the subset of games that are better with pads on the pc is almost non-existant.

If you play emulated games is the best reason to buy a pad for the pc.

I mainly use a pad for emu games (MAME,NES,SNES) and apart from that, where I really noticed a difference was NFS Underground, which I enjoy A LOT more with a gamepad than the keyboard...Oh yeah, and Gish, too!
A strange one was LOK: Blood Omen 2 the controls of which was discussed in another topic, cos it really has totally "console" controls on the PC too; it just perfectly adapts to a gamepad. I didn't like the game itself too much tho.

Maybe the one reason why I started really liking gamepads was when I started noticing how much more fun it's to play on a console the same games I had on the PC.

Did you try some Ps2 controller lookin pc game pads?? Like Logitech Dual Action or Thrustmaster FireStorm?? I will buy one of these, thanks to Konami. They dont bother to make their games playable with keyboard & mouse when converting from ps2 to pc.

90% of them are crap, and your looking at twice or more the price.

PS2 pad had a hell of a lot more money going into its developement than any pc pad on the market (okay they didn't figure out that maybe a better control method than the dpad was needed for 3d games... or about rumble pack). Infact, most console pads are better made than cheap pc ones.

So its win-win. You get a better pad, and you get it cheaper. imo :)
