Never gonna happen :(

I have to admit that now I'm getting on some fast dsl connections being able to download at 250k/sec MAX and only upload at 30k/sec, is ridiculous :?
But thats ADSL for ya!

ADSL can upload at 1mbit+, cable is at its limit I think, however. It might be a tad higher in actuality, i do not that technology limits it way below ADSL though.

SDSL is 8mbit/8mbit.

Again RUMOUR has it NTL may well increase upload as well, due to increased capacity of their new cards, speeds being mooted are 400kbits and 800kbits upload.
Would be nice, but in all honesty I can't see it happening :(

I'd be straight back being an NTL customer if they did though

I have told SmellyWaste that I would sacrifice 1meg of my down in exchange for 512k upload. There response was faster up speeds are possible, but not likely. What a bunch of wankers, all I wanted was 10meg or so each way.

CONFIRMED and EVEN BETTER news :
Quote:
NTL have confirmed that they WILL be changing speeds - a 2MB and 3MB speed will be launching in the first quarter of 2005.

Simon Duffy, chief executive of ntl says:-

To retain our leadership position in broadband, we will be increasing our ntl:home products in Q1 2005 to 1MB, 2MB & 3MB at existing prices this decision reflects our determination to ensure that we will always have the most competitive range of broadband products in the market place.

I see that, this could be interesting. TW and NTL tend to generally match each other, so hopefully my 3 meg price could drop a little.
