What do you need a 3MB connection for if not to download MORE stuff, so capping always seems bad :(

I like the new speeds their gonna introduce though

But (I may be wrong) didn't NTL always have official caps on their broadband packages but never really bothered with them?

Anyway bad news for NTL customers if they introduce it.

Nice new sppeds, but @ 3mb you'll only be able to use your connection for ~ a day and a half, if my calculations are correct

I'll switch to Bulldog as soon as NTL actually introduce it.

Yeah, Satan, if you READ the article it says they're going to CHARGE by the GB over the monthly limit :-o

Looks like next year is the year I go to bulldog DSL :)

LMFAO, NTL is really going downhill, and this shit comes at the same time TW start really pushing there "no limits, uncapped" service.

Looks like Bulldog may be getting a nice boost to there income LOL

The BIGGER issue here though is the merger between NTL and TW early next year, you might find yourself in the same Tak :(

Nope, did you not read my theory I posted somewhere some time ago? LOL

In case you missed it I think they are setting themselves up so that the TW uncapped services will cost more, and be seen as more of a premium service, with the NTHell shit being the standard, peasants package.

It would make sense to have multiple tiers

I read it, BUT it's not going to happen TW will be subject to NTL's T&C apparently

Based on your current usage, you're using more than this monthly allowance. However, there's no need to worry. Although the change to your Terms & Conditions is taking place now, the usage allowance will only be applied from early 2005. At that point, we'll be introducing a number of options for the few customers who may require additional capacity. We'll be in touch to tell you more about these options closer to the time.

Not heard anything since so I'm waiting to see what happens.

Aren't NTL a bit cheaper than TW now tho? Maybe they will offer uncapped services at prices more inline with SmellyWaste.

Where did you hear this PCA? It would make interesting reading as TW are still swearing blind that caps have not even been considered, and for the foreseeable future it will be unmetered. Basically I do not give a shit what packages they do and what caps they have, aslong as I can still get unmetered access for the price I pay now I am happy.

I could not care less if they brought out 4meg for 20 quid a month if it has any form of cap.

Cableforum, every time it comes up it's NTL that will take control of TW as they are a larger company. I think that Guardian's mentioned it today as well.

But size does not mean control, my dad's old firm took control of a company more than twice it's size, and that was due to the smaller firm being in a better finanial situation.

i'm with the BT ?24.99 package, had a look on their website, they've introduced caps for all their packages, but don't mention if/when caps will be put on my existing line, anyone any ideas?

can't get TW in my area but can get NTL freedom (!?) never had a bandwidth usage warning yet either. i d/l around 50-80GB per month.

i've signed into the 12 month contract but that should nearly be up by now, so i could change if i wanted to... anyone want to suggest a better provider?

where ever NTL go, telewest follow I'm afraid. I wouldn't be surprised to see caps introduced across the board again.

Complaining is your best short term option.

In America we don't have such problems.
No American company would dare try to put usage caps on service, because every service here is unlimited access.
