Can anyone tell me a stable PUBLIC torrent tracker? Where you can post any files.... even <gasp> legit ones?

Or point me to a fourm or a faq where I could learn about setting up my own tracker?

http://tracker.zaerc.com/

The page of the second one can be quite sluggish sometimes, but the tracker itself is solid.

http://rlcmedia.org:6969/ (Make sure your torrent client isn't in the banned list if you use that one)
You can also try Zaerc's other link for his tracker that uses a different server. Usually loads quicker and is a new interface he's been working on for the tracker http://tracker.zaerc.com:666/index.jsp (Torrents link at the top)

I had a go about a year and a half ago at my own tracker just for what i uploaded because at the time trackers were going down left and right. I tried out the bnbt tracker software because it was fairly easy to set up, although I prefer php trackers because they seem to be more stable. Only had about 5 flicks uploaded and it was killing my connection, so i had to shut it down. Just make sure you got the bandwidth to handle it if you start your own. Filesoup has a good guide on it and links to get you started :) http://filesoup.co.uk/forum/index.php?showforum=101

That's one private isn't it? You need to be registered to see the torrents and there is no register link, so presumably it is by invite only.

You can register on the site without the port 666 and then start using the "new" layout with that port in the address.

Yep that's how to do it. I don't think Z has got that implemented yet into the new interface(registration). Gotta go through the old to get to the new atm :)

Thanks for the file soup link mate..

What was killing your connection? The Upload of teh video data or was it the tracker itself.... I can not imagine that the tracker would have a HUGE ammount of traffic...??
