Maybe it's old news but this is a alternative to watch divx movies for who don't allready knows; and if you wanna buy a dvd player maybe this one/similar is for you!
It's cheap also around 200$.

This one is capable to play:VCD, SVCD, MP3, CD-RW, DVD-RW and Jpeg-pics even X-vid- and DivX (3.11- till latest)

I wanna hear your opinions and if anyone has one?!
Are they more of them? Which one is best?

3.11 doesn't work on my friends.

Is there a fix or something?

yes it is very old news to me, but i wouldn't expect everyone to have heard about this player.

It does support divx 3.11 with a firmware update, but it has a lot of problems with many rips and apparantly doesn't handle subtitles well at all.

There is another player (non-kiss) that also supports mpeg-4 playback and i've heard for a few people it's a better player, can handle subs, etc. I'll dig out a link later

okay reading further, it wasn't as good as one guy led on. The best Kiss player is the 500, not the 450, this also supports Ethernet/divx streaming so you don't have to burn every movie to disc:

Here's another player:

On top of the standalones round and about, Xbox and PS2 both can playback mpeg-4 movies.

Kiss DP-1000

http://www.kiss-technology.com/?p=dp1000&v=users

looks good?
quite cheap too.

Homepage says this on the last firmware update:
Firmware 2.8.5
- Subtitles re-enabled
- Playtime shown on display on SVCD playback
- General Improvements

But is that divx subs or just normal dvd subs?

EDIT:
In our Xvid test movie, with AC3 sound, we had to files with subtitles, one was a .sub file with english subtitles and the other a .srt file with greek subtitles. The second one was not been recognized from the player. We don't know what was the problem, the greek subtitles or the type of file?
