Post subject:  Cracking RAR passwords
Does anyone know a program to crack encrypted rar passwords? I have Dmitry Nikitin's rar password cracker but it doesn't work with passwords over 10 chars, and it's been running over a day and is still processing 4 character passwords.

Usenet, but I've tried the newsgroup name and poster's name with no success :(

hmm,you could try bruteforcing it,but theoretically that can take a few years

on the other hand you could get lucky in the first 5 mins :wink:

Have you tried scaning the newsgroup posts for the password?

It was Faces of Death III. I've reached my maximum number of Grabit searches for today but I'll try again tomorrow. I did grab a few file regarding the password after your suggestion PCA but they were all asking for it.
